Could you resume your professional life in a few words?
I´m orignally an interior architect that nowdays works around 50% as an photograher and 50 % as an interior architect/set desifgner/stylist/creative director and trend forecaster/colourist.
Which is you approach with a project and which are the first steps in developing your idea?
its also depending of project but usually I start very free with mapping/free accossiations to know which way I want to reach down to the heart of the product/project.
Which is the origin of your high interest in bright colors? What are the influences of this stylistic expression?
I think my obsession about colour is mainly about distinguishing and clarifying things and objects. In the same way you use colours to distinguish different subway lines, or how warning signs are yellow or red. I think the reason is probably psychological: being a controlling person, I also like to control and clarify my surroundings. But maybe it’s also physiological, because my eyesight is so bad. Maybe that is also the reason why it’s so important to me to capture things at all: the preciousness of being able to see.
For an interior architect, colours are strictly combined with materials. Which kind of materials do you prefer and experience? Do you think is there any link between these two aspects of design?
Of course textures and colour are total one impression, however I love putting unconventional colours on materials that use to be seen in other colours.
Which colours I prefer totally depend on the project, but coloured tiles with coloured grout is always a favourite, as well as colour stained plywood, kvadrat fabriks (most of the collections) etc
How do you combine your job as an interior architect and as a photographer?
I (still) love the variety of working in different diciplines and believe in that one thing enriches the other (displine). However I never say yes to longer architecture projects, that wouldn´t be able to combine with other projects (photography).
Would you define more an architect or a photographer?
I’m usually title myself as an interior architect doing photography
You have an instagram profile too. How do you think instagram will change the future of photography?
It already changed it, and not only photography but the way of living, always a phone in your hand.
Photography wise I think instagram is mostly a good thing, even if it algorithms and other things changed lately, still everyone have a voice in a kind of way, and the possibility to reach out in a total different way.
How do you find the interiors to photograph?
Keeping my eyes open, also I have good design and architecture knowledge since I’ve been working with those for so long..
What are the most interesting things of everyday life that capture your attention?
It could be anything, something in the subway, light changing or an ugly corner in a backstreet
You are also involved in art direction and set design projects. What kind of projects would you develop in your future?
Actually I’m involved in a big startup about colour right now, couldn’t be more excited.
Could you tell something more about your last project with the start up?
I’m afraid the start up it’s still to secret to be able to tell you something more than it´s about using colour in a total new different way. To be released during 2019.
