Not everyone is comfortable with words, some people are able to fully express themselves with music, others with images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new format: we give 5 inputs to some of the illustrators we like most and ask them to respond through drawings. Not something complex and elaborate, just sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination.
Hatiye Garip is an illustrator, comic artist, and designer in Istanbul, Turkey. She likes to draw birds, flowers and ordinary moments. Her works have been exhibited and published in many countries, including Portugal, Belgium, Lithuania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, South Korea, the USA, and the UK. She was an Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund recipient in 2020. Garip’s recently completed picture book, Making My Own Way, focuses on her childhood memories of her grandmother.
