They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Fotointervista is exactly what it sounds like: an interview to be answered with photographs to get to know photographers and their personal world.
Let’s start our photographic journey with Domenica Melillo.

My name is Domenica Melillo and I was born in Irpinia, surrounded by legends of wolves and witches. I graduated in New Media Art at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples and I work as a strategic-creative coordinator in Milan.
My artistic research is focused on identity, aesthetics, relationship and dialogue, which I express mostly through self-portraits in which I fail to show myself, refusing the post-digital age convention of explicit representation. I let myself be inspired by light and everyday life, the paintings of magic realism and ancient and philosophical currents.
I took part in national and international exhibitions, among them Art for Refugees and Art for Kika (Cloud Gallery, Amsterdam 2016 and 2017), THE WRONG BIENNALE (worldwide, 2018) and Other Identity (Genoa, 2022) and I created installations and exhibitions for music and subculture festivals, with an array of different technical collaborations that involved La Repubblica and Federico II University of Naples.
