They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.
Fotointervista is exactly what it sounds like: an interview to be answered with photographs to get to know photographers and their personal world.
Let’s start our photographic journey with Jonas Barr.

Hi, my name is Jonas Barr. I’m twenty-three years old and currently based in New York. For me, photography is synonymous with storytelling. As a writer, I originally took up photography to inspire my poetry or short stories. Eventually I began to explore the power of this medium to observe people and their seemingly mundane lives. Since a majority of my photos are taken using 35mm film, I’m forced to take my time while composing an image while considering a theme for the visual story I’d like to tell. Each frame that a roll of film affords me is the opportunity to preserve small moments that will each eventually contribute to the greater body of work I hope to create. The art of photography has been such a wonderful challenge and learning experience for me. However, I still have a long way to go in exploring my creativity in a way that reflects some of my most personal ideas. In the meantime, I’ll simply continue to collect the small moments.
