Not everyone is comfortable with words, some people are able to fully express themselves with music, others with images. For this reason, we have decided to start this new format: we give 5 inputs to some of the illustrators we like most and ask them to respond through drawings. Not something complex and elaborate, just sketches on paper, like when as children we give shape to our imagination.
Nikki Toledo is a freelance illustrator from the Philippines. She finds peace in visual art that radiates optimism from the mundane scenarios of life. She communicates this comfort through a balanced color palette that emphasizes characters, places, and simple circumstances.
